Íñigo Amezola is the winery’s most avant-garde blended wine. It comes from our best plot, San Quiles, located 550 meters above sea level. It is a commitment to Tempranillo and a careful elaboration in honor of the founder of the winery. It is a limited edition of 8 thousand bottles.
Bottle size: 0,75 l.
Scores: 92 points Tim Atkin.
Vintage: 2020. It was a vintage rated as very good with an ideal vegetative cycle.
Varietal: 100% Tempranillo from San Quiles, the best plot located at 550 meters altitude. This vineyard has a calcareous soil that provides wines with high acidity and long aging.
Winemaking: It undergoes malolactic fermentation in barrels and is aged for 8 months in brand new French oak. During this time we carry out 2 batonnages per week. We work the barrels in two ways; either we shake them or we let them roll but we never stir them. Colloquially we refer to a “James Bond” batonnage… in the sense that it is “stirred not shaken”.
Tasting Notes: It is characterized by a dark ripe cherry color, practically opaque. The nose is reminiscent of black fruits of the forest and balsamic. In the mouth it is a generous wine with a long aftertaste.
Pairing: Pasta, rice dishes, grilled or sauced white meats.
